Step 1 The uterus is identified and retracted out of the abdomen
Step 2 The left ovary is identified
Step 3 A hemostat is placed on the ovarian ligament and the suspensory ligament is broken
Step 4 A "window" is made in the broad ligament caudal to the ovarian vessels
Step 5 Test Retraction of the Ovary
Step 6 The Ovariectomy Retractor is placed through the "window" in the broad ligament
Step 7 A hemostatic clamp is placed on the ovarian pedicle
Step 8 A ligature is placed in the groove of the hemostatic clamp
Step 9 A second ligature is placed
Step 10 The ligated pedicle is checked and released
Step 11 The broad ligament is identified and separated
Step 12 The 2nd (right) ovary is identified and the suspensory ligament broken
Step 13 A "window" is made in the broad ligament caudal to the ovarian vessels
Step 14 A hemostat is placed on the proper ovarian ligament

Step 16 The Ovariectomy Retractor is placed through the "window" in the broad ligament
