A wide range of Blood Transfusion Products allows for all species to be recip- ients of blood transfusion medicine. Canines tolerate standard human transfu- sion products. Feline patients require much smaller 50_150ml bags. Equine pa- tients need 1_4 liter bags to do the job adequately.
Blood component therapy is an expanding field. Plasma and concentrated RBCs can be separated, and specific therapeutic modalities can be implemented. The addition of transfer bags and dry collection bags make this an easy procedure.
